The ingredients needed to make One Pot Chicken Rice:
- Prepare 500 grams chicken
- Take 3-4 cardamom,
- Take 3-4 cloves,
- Take 2 bay leaf,
- Get 1” cinnamon,
- Get 1/ 2 tsp cumin seeds
- Make ready 4-5 , pepper corns
- Prepare 2 cups Basmati rice
- Prepare 4-5 tbsp curd,
- Prepare 1 cup milk
- Prepare 1/2 coriander powder,
- Take 1/2 tsp garam masala powder,
- Get 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Prepare as per taste Salt
- Take 4-5 slit green chilli
- Take 2 cups Water,
- Make ready 2 big size onion
- Get 1 big onion for beresta (fried onion)
- Get as per needed Oil
- Make ready 2-3 tbsp ghee
- Get 1 tbsp ginger
- Make ready 1 tbsp garlic paste
Steps to make One Pot Chicken Rice:
- Marinade chicken pieces in a mixture of curd, salt, red chilli powder, mix well and keep aside for 30 - 45 minutes.
- Wash rice and soak for 15 minutes
- In a pan / kadhai, add 1 tbsp oil, add finely sliced onion and fry under low to medium flame by adding slight salt. Fry till it turns brown and keep aside.
- In the same pan add 2 tbsp ghee and 2tbsp oil, add whole garam masala, cumin seeds, let it crackle then add onion slices, fry for 3-4 minutes,then add ginger garlic, coriander powder and sauté till onion changes to golden brown
- Now add marinade chicken into it and sear under medium to high flame for 10 - 15 minutes and then add garam masala, 1/4 tsp red chilli powder and stir fry for few minutes. Chicken will release water so we need to reduce water
- Now add milk, water, required salt and give a nice mix. Cook for 4-5 minutes
- Now add rice into it, add green chilli and mix well.
- Cover and cook under low to medium flame for 15 - 20 minutes
- Lastly add 1 tsp ghee, mix well and keep in stand by mode for few minutes. Dish is ready to serve.
