Chicken Katsu (チキンカツ) is chicken fillet breaded with flour, egg, and Japanese panko breadcrumbs, then deep-fried until golden brown. It’s the chicken counterpart of Tonkatsu or pork. For this chicken version, boneless chicken breasts are pounded thin, dredged in flour, egg and panko, then fried until golden brown for an Tonkatsu sauce, steamed rice and lemon wedges, for serving. Chicken tonkatsu is a variation of the famous pork tonkatsu, a Japanese dish consisting of breaded meat (e.g. pork or chicken) using Japanese or Panko bread crumbs, then fried until crispy.

Instructions to make Chicken tonkatsu:
  1. Pound chicken breasts til thin then season with salt and pepper
  2. Coat chicken with flour, dip in egg, then coat with bread crumbs.
  3. Fry chicken in medium heat. Cook until golden
  4. Chop fresh cabbages and sprinkle with dressing of choice
  5. Dress chicken with tonkatsu sauce and japanese mayonnaise. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve with rice
  6. Ready to serve and ENJOY!
