The ingredients needed to make Butter Chicken:

  2. Get Chicken (boneless)
  3. Take 2 tsp curd
  4. Get Pinch salt
  5. Get 1/4 tsp red chilli powder

  7. Take 1/4 tsp garam masala
  8. Get 1/4 tsp kasuri methi
  9. Take 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  13. Make ready 1 tbsp cashew nuts
  14. Get 1/2 medium onion, roughly chopped
  15. Get 1 medium tomato, roughly chopped
  16. Take 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  17. Take For finishing the sabzi
  18. Make ready 1/2 tbsp butter
  19. Make ready 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  20. Make ready 1-2 cloves
  21. Prepare 1-2 cardamom
  22. Make ready 1/4 * cinnamon
  23. Make ready 1 green chilli slits
  24. Take 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  25. Take 1/2 tsp cumin-coriander powder
  26. Get 1/2 tbsp sugar/tomato ketchup
  27. Prepare 1/2 tsp salt (to taste)
  28. Prepare 1/4 tsp garam masala
  29. Prepare 1/4 tsp kasuri methi
  30. Make ready 1 tbsp cream (or butter and milk)
Steps to make Butter Chicken:
  1. Mix all the ingredients (except chicken) for the marinade in a bowl. Taste it, adjust flavour if needed.
  2. Add chicken and coat it in the marinade fully. Let it rest for few hours (1-2 hours at least).
  3. Grill the chicken on stove top with butter.
  4. For the gravy, add oil to a pan.
  5. Add cashew nuts and roast till they are light brown.
  6. Add onions and cook till translucent.
  7. Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook till the raw smell fades.
  8. Add the tomatoes and cook till oil separates/gets mushy.
  9. Let it cool down and then blend to a paste.
  10. To finish the sabzi, add butter to a pan.
  11. Add the whole spices (cumin, cinnamon, cardamom, clove) and cook till it sizzles.
  12. Add onions, ginger-garlic paste and green chilli slits and cook.
  13. Add tomato ketchup/sugar and all the dry spices except garam masala and kasuri methi.
  14. Mix well and let it cook for 2-3 min.
  15. Add cream (or butter and milk) and mix well.
  16. Add kasuri methi and garam masala.
  17. Add the chicken pieces and cook for a minute.
  18. Serve hot with rice/paratha/naan!
  19. Ready to serve and ENJOY!
